Belong To? explores the moment an illusion begins to fail. It is a portrait of being held captive by the seductive comfort of memory, only to realise that the past is no longer a sanctuary, but a prison.

The colours that once offered safety now begin to shimmer and distort, playing tricks on the eyes. Like wallpaper in an untouched childhood bedroom, the grip of nostalgia finally loosens, fading and peeling to reveal the reality beneath. This work captures the frozen state of being "stuck in a fantasy" and the subsequent emotional release that comes when we finally challenge our own history.
